ACT Government Holding Firm On Anti-Consorting Laws

The ACT Government is refusing to bow to pressure to introduce anti-consorting laws.

New legislation aiming to crack down on bikies has passed the Assembly.

Shooting into a building or car, is now a crime punishable by up to 10 years jail.

The measures also allow police to secure evidence at crime scenes more quickly.

But Shadow Attorney General Jeremy Hanson, who is introducing his own bill tomorrow, says police need more help.
