Union strike action threatened over Government workplace deals

A number of ACT unions are threatening strike action as negotiations for new workplace deals covering Government staff break down. The Health Services Union has applied to begin industrial action following the Government's latest pay offer.
Yesterday the Australian Worker's Union also rejected a 2.2% pay rise over a year.
Other unions including Professionals Australia and the Electrical Trades Union are also said to be unhappy with the ACT Government's latest pay offers.
