Tourism continues to boost the ACT economy

Canberra's economy continues to be bolstered by a strong tourism industry. New figures from Tourism Research Australia show one in seven new jobs created in the ACT was in the tourism sector.

Government still to cut poker machine licenses

The ACT Government is powering ahead with its plan to cut poker machine licenses by 2020. They've announced a review into club revenue diversification, appointing Neville Stevens AO, to guide an analysis on how clubs can move away from their reliance on poker machines.

New learner driver reforms receive criticism

Bold new reforms to learner and provisional license restrictions are being criticised by some members of the ACT Government. Road Safety Minister Shane Rattenbury introduced the proposed reforms yesterday, which include mandatory driving hours for learners, driving curfews for P platers; who would also be subject to a passenger limit.
