Scammers Pretending to be AFP Officers


There's a new a new telephone scam doing the rounds.Police believe the callers are pretending to be AFP officers who say there's an outstanding debt to the tax office which needs to be paid immediately or face being arrested.

Police say officers will NEVER contact people via phone asking for money or bank details.

Parliamentary inquiry into National Institutions funding

A parliamentary inquiry will be looking into whether or not National institutions in Canberra have got enough funding. Since the Coalition came to power in 2013, budgets cuts to the National Museum, Gallery and Library have add up to around $13 million dollars.

Canberra's most and least advantaged suburbs

Census data has revealed Canberra's most well-off areas, as well as the most disadvantaged. Duntroon tops the list of privileged spots, while Charnwood has been ranked among the lowest.
