Investigations Continue Into Death Of Man Tasered By Police

The ACT'S Chief Police Officer is defending the police's use of stun guns,  following the death of a man who who was tasered by police.

When officers were called to the house in Waramanga they found the man covered in blood and holding a large knife.

Gas Leak Sealed Off, But Delays Expected

Works to repair a gas leak in Canberra's South are expected to carry well into this evening.

Maintenance workers accidentally ruptured a gas pipeline on the corner of Ashley Drive and Johnson Drive in Richardson earlier this morning.

Clinton McCalistair from Actew AGL says the site is safe, but traffic in the area will be affected for some time....

ACT Government Holding Firm On Anti-Consorting Laws

The ACT Government is refusing to bow to pressure to introduce anti-consorting laws.

New legislation aiming to crack down on bikies has passed the Assembly.

Shooting into a building or car, is now a crime punishable by up to 10 years jail.

The measures also allow police to secure evidence at crime scenes more quickly.
