Alicia Payne the Labor pre selection for the seat of Canberra
Alicia Payne has been preselected by ACT Labor for the seat of Canberra. The factionally unaligned Ms Payne was running against charity boss John Falzon, staffer Jacob Ingram, Simon Banks and Kel Watt - but won preselection thanks to preferences from three other candidates.

Music program cut from ANU schedule

Music program cut from ANU schedule
A music program for year 11 and 12 Canberra students has been discontinued due to funding cuts from Arts ACT. The H Course, which ran at ANU, offered students an opportunity to improve their skills, with organisers saying it's a loss to the Canberra music scene.

Underwhelming response to dockless bikes
Canberra's first dockless bike scheme trial has received an underwhelming response in it's first month of operation. 1200 locals have used Airbike since it started at the beginning of August, with the head of the service admitting they predicted more interest.

Non-friable asbestos being removed from Harrison school
Non-friable asbestos has been found in garden beds at Harrison School, with the affected areas now cordoned off. Work commenced yesterday and continued overnight to remove the contamination, with school continuing as normal today.
