Woman Killed By Dog

A woman in her late 40s has been killed and a man has been injured in a vicious dog attack in Watson.

Police were called to a home ae around 3.40am, where they attempted to provide medical assisatnce to a critically injured woman.

The dog then launched at officers, who were forced to shoot it dead.

Canberra Man Accused Of Stabbing Granted Bail

A man has been granted bail after a stabbing incident at a house party in Kambah on Saturday.

It's alleged Troy Kennewell attacked a passerby who tried to intervene in a fight between him and his girlfriend.

The 19-year-old was granted bail on strict conditions.

Pleas are yet to be entered; the case returns to on November 14th....

Federal Politicians Concerned About Codeine Regulations

A group of federal government M-Ps are concerned about a decision to make codeine prescription-only from early next year.

Up to seven politicians have raised the matter during a Coalition partyroom meeting in Canberra.

There have been some calls for the painkiller to be prescribed by a doctor, rather than over the counter.

Two Companies Hit With Big WorkSafe Fines

A scaffolding company has been hit with fines totalling almost $11000, after a work site was shut down for safety issues earlier this month.

The Coombs site remains closed, following a WorkSafe ACT inspection on October 11.

Meanwhile a $3600 fine has also been issued after safety failures were discovered at a construction site in Braddon....
