Potential COVID breach at Parliament House

There are reports of a potential COVID breach at Parliament House after it was visited yesterday by 25 tourists from the Cumberland Region.

The area is still subject to restrictions, and residents from the region require an exemption to enter the ACT.

Investigation launched into strip search claims at AMC

An investigation is underway over claims an Aboriginal woman was strip searched in full view of male detainees at the Alexander Maconochie Centre.

The woman, who is a sexual abuse survivor, was on remand when the alleged search took place.

Corrections Minister Mick Gentleman has confirmed the Human Rights Commission has commenced an investigation.

Police appeal for information on Paddys River Collision

ACT Policing is appealing for information following a fatal motorcycle collision at Paddys River.

The crash occurred between Midday and 2.00pm on Sunday the 17th of January.

While police do not currently believe any other vehicles were involved in the incident, the footage showed several other vehicles were on the road before and after the collision.

ACT gets $24 million boost for COVID vaccines

The ACT Government will spend 24 million dollars rolling out COVID-19 vaccines across Canberra.

The funds will go towards cold storage, staffing, training and logistical support.
