5000 motorists detected speeding

The ACT Government has expressed concerns with around 5000 motorists detected speeding in new 40km/h an hour zones.

Road safety cameras were set up on Northbourne Avenue and Barry Drive.

Possible Changes to Student Protests

A motion from the ACT Greens will call on the ACT Government to make it easier for school students to attend peaceful protests

The motion also aims to support teachers to enhance civics and democracy education.

Proposed Changes to ACT Work Health and Safety

The ACT government will move to make changes to the ACT’s work health and safety laws.

The Canberra Times reports the move will strengthen industrial manslaughter laws.

The proposal would see corporations faced with a $16.5 million fine if “reckless or negligent” behaviour resulted in the workplace death of another.
